EDISS > During the PhD

During your doctorate

Our doctoral programme offers training both for research and by research. It constitutes the student's first extensive professional experience, recognized worldwide, internationally within both academia and the business world.

This recognition at the highest level implies that the doctoral student does more than simply carry out research. Guided by his/her thesis director, the student is a "project leader" whose training and experience comprise multiple facets, namely: pursuing established objectives, conducting analyses and syntheses, intellectual property,  the international "state of the art", written and oral presentations of his/her work, publications and papers, respecting deadlines, as well as preparing his/her post-thesis future, building a network, etc.

This section presents the various essential steps for your doctoral experience. Here you will find practical information on registering and re-registering (annual registrations), the different training programmes offered by the doctoral school and University of Lyon, the thesis monitoring committee or the "Follow-up PhD Committee” called in french CST (Comité de suivi de thèse), the thesis paper and the thesis defence.
