International mobility

Mobility package

There are several mobility options for doctoral students:
_ if you are travelling outside your laboratory (to a company for CIFRE students), you must have a travel order (check with the laboratory manager)
_ if you are travelling to another laboratory, you must draw up a hosting agreement (check with the laboratory manager)
_ joint supervision of your thesis, which allows you to do a PhD in conjunction with another university abroad and obtain two degrees after a single defence,
_ co-supervision of your thesis, which allows you to conduct research at two universities with two thesis supervisors

Mobility funding

Mobility entails additional expenses (travel, accommodation, possibly visas and insurance) and therefore requires specific funding.
_ Funding via the EDISS call for proposals in January. It is intended to fund disciplinary training courses lasting at least 20 hours and one-week stays in a research laboratory to learn a technique necessary for the completion of the doctoral student's thesis project.
The amount and number of grants awarded by EDISS will depend on the number of applications. They will be ranked by the EDISS office.
_ The institutions of enrolment may also fund travel (e.g. UCBL; for other institutions of enrolment, ask the doctoral centre managers).
